Friends enjoying the sunset

Discover the Catalan capital by day and night; start your Friday evening with a Sunset beach picnic at the incredibly instagrammable spot Playa de Bogatell and move on later to a local hot spot and learn how to Salsa dance. Our incredible staff can recommend where to go, and might even show you a few steps!

Wake up on Saturday and take a free walking tour or a 2.5hr bike tour from the hostel. Explore beautiful Barcelona and admire the magic of Gaudi’s unusual architectural designs and his dream of a modern metropolis. Peddle your journey through Barcelona’s evolution, from its medieval history to a contemporary city.

The next challenge? Find your favourite traditional Catalan cuisine! Patatas bravas, la bomba and churros are on the menu!
Fancy a breathtaking view of Barcelona? Take the iconic teleferic (cable car) and float across the city’s skyline to Montjuïc Castle, wander around the Olympic Ring, call by an art museum or two, and finish with a performance at the Magic Fountain.

Spend Saturday afternoon roaming through the many beautiful squares and alleyways, absorbing the cultural charms.
We should also mention Barcelona is famous for great shopping!

Torn between our best local restaurant recommendations (Paella for days!) and the fresh La Boqueria market produce on the city’s most famous boulevard Las Ramblas – picture every juice in the rainbow.
You can do it ALL in a long weekend! We dare you to skip a siesta for sangria!

Are drinks expensive in Barcelona you ask? Stick with us! We’ll take you from the Amistat Beach hostel to the best Tapas bars in El Borne, Barcelona and drink as Catalans do, through a porrón; a traditional wine pitcher. Read more about how expensive Barcelona is, here. Moving into late Saturday evening we’ll show you our favourite bars and clubs, playing everything from afrobeat to post-punk, to the city’s true musical love – electro and techno.

Start Sunday with a traditional Spanish breakfast from our kitchen and then take a relaxed journey on foot through Gaudí’s masterpiece and life’s work, the Sagrada Família basilica.

You simply cannot leave without seeing this part of Barcelona and we recommend you stop by the Plaça de Gaudí for a front row view of the local Bocce game afterwards!
